About a week after I moved into my little Connecticut Valley town, a neighbor came by and asked if I wanted to serve on the library b…that’s all she got out before I said, yes.
I have always wanted to be on a library board, but as a full-time journalist, I limited my involvement in civic and political organizations out of fear that a conflict of interest might arise.
The library (above) is still in its original Victorian building. We are an active board and have quite a few events scheduled (I recommend this one coming up, on Zoom). I’ve been on the board for four years. Our term limit is six, and I’ll be sad to leave.
At a recent board meeting, someone suggested the place needed a little sprucing up. Someone else mentioned a work party, but we didn’t choose a date.
