On Tuesday, Biden, the son of Pres. Joe Biden, agreed:
To plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of tax evasion in federal court in Delaware
To participate in a pretrial program for a firearm offense (he lied on his 2018 application for a gun)
You can read the court filing here. Hunter Biden has been under investigation since 2018. Much political hay has been made of the president’s son alleged threat to national security, and Republicans have vowed to continue their investigations, and even called this plea deal an example of a “double standard,” which is about as stupid a statement as one can make. Hunter Biden broke the law. Donald J. Trump broke the law, set fire to it, and then rolled around in its ashes.
The White House released a statement that said:
"The President and First Lady love their son and support him as he continues to rebuild his life."
Hunter Biden should have paid his taxes. He should not have purchased a gun using false information. But you know what’s interesting here? There are no plans — zero — to storm the White House over this. No one is taking to the streets to whine about a witch hunt — though you could make the argument that the Republicans’ continued hounding of the younger Biden runs dangerously close to that. Here is how the grownups live under the rule of law: Hunter Biden broke the law. He is being brought to justice. Funny how that works.
Considering that Republicans want to abolish the IRS and let everyone buy a gun with no restrictions, their opposition to Hunter Biden's plea deal seems ... odd.
Trump has already called it a slap on the wrist. The seed of a deal is now planted in Trump's walnut sized brain. Now if he could only get one without admitting to anything. Of course all that is complicated by his confessing to various charges on Fox.

And speaking of walnut sized brains, I cracked up when he said he held back some of documents because he had to sort through the boxes they were in to remove personal items like golf pants. Who does that?! In the words of Nicole Wallace; “a crazy hoarder”. Maybe I should keep my underwear in the file cabinet drawer with our tax records in case we get audited.
