Forgive me for visiting your email so often this morning. When I first sent this out, I inadvertently linked to a photo of the elephant, above, and not the article I’d intended. Had Sharon not pointed that out (thank you, kind Sharon), you’d be left wondering what it is about the elephant that made me share it twice. I have corrected the faulty link, and I’ll leave you alone now. Here is what I meant to say, the message dulled, I’m afraid, by my mistake:
Connecticut’s segregation (and we are one of the most segregated states in the union) didn’t just happen. It was built over generations.
It won’t go away with one law or one even one administration.
Segregation will be dismantled bit by bit. Starting this month, Connecticut’s real estate agents are required to take a class on bias in their industry. It’s a start.
