The U.S. House of Representatives minority leader is swinging for the bleachers

To delay the vote on the awful Big Ass Ugly Bill (So. Many. Republicans. Caved.), Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who has taken some. heat for lackluster leadership of late, is meeting the moment in a marathon speech on the House floor. He started speaking at 4:52 a.m. and has shown no sign of slowing.

Republican holdouts against this awful bill, by dead of night, changed their minds after significant cajoling from the diapered felon who rapes.

In his speech, Jeffries has been exhorting the MAGAts who want to push this monstrosity off on the country to reconsider. As a House leader, he has unlimited speaking time (his “magic minute”) and I find myself — who randomly prays — praying. As Jeffries says, we are better than this.
