Rather than take a page from Trump’s playbook and whine that the week’s elections won by Republicans were stolen, let’s think about what the Democrats shoulda-woulda-coulda done differently.
1) They could have run politicians who weren’t so very politics as usual (lookin’ at you, Terry). The party could finally realize that the Clinton era is past, and we need to bury it and move on. It isn’t fair. It isn’t right. Yes, I voted for her, but it’s time to move the hell on. Give us energetic candidates who will ignite the populace.
2) They could listen to the more progressive wing of the party and stop pretending there’s common ground with the Trump Republicans. Along those same lines:
3) They could get mean. Gone are the days of Democratic yard dogs on short chains going after the more nonsensical of the opposing party. We have lawyers who play nice and speak in full sentences. I want a Lee Atwater — someone who knows how to get in there and fight. Enough of this Terry-McAuliffe-Lost-So-The-Democrats-Will-Lose-The-Midterms mentality. Fight back, goddammit.
4) Here’s where you come in. Help the Democrats out. Give them a game plan. Jaysus, they need it.
End. The. Filibuster.

I keep bucking for announcing and promoting a vision for the nation and world-- I like "A sustainable and equitable nation and world"-- and then explaining and selling policies as serving the implementation of that vision.
And holding antis accountable in public. Like, "So why don't you want to tax the extreme wealth to fund the expansion of opportunity for the poorest? Oh, so you value incentives for the already-bloated over nutritive scraps for the starving." Like, "`It costs too much' really doesn't mean anything without talking about what's to be bought. $100 is a lot for a gumboil and very little for a functioning automobile. Let's talk about the short- and long-term benefits from the expenditure you oppose."
