I am going to Florida in a few events and intend to attend one of these teach-ins; I have quite a few teacher friends in Florida who have already filled me in on some alleged educational activities by ICE in Orlando. A professor friend tells me O-town is next because it’s a blue dot in Florida that increasingly makes trouble for the red ones. And I just had made a T-shirt with “I apologize!” In bold white letters, hoping to gently antagonize the brown people haters everywhere. Kinda’ silly, I know, but silly seems the right word to describe our administration. But silly only describes the people not their legislative actions that are turning our country into a silly mess.
We old, white liberals are kicking some ass, sister!
On this day watch King’s (NO not that king) “I have a dream” speech and then reflect on the thousands assembled on that steamy day to hear words of hope. Professor Richardson’s piece today mention heroes, let us all try to do something resembling a heroic act. We need such acts now more than ever! LFG!
Yesterday I stood in falling snow with a small but spirited group of protesting fellow travellers in progressive Fairfield, CT. Passersby were overwhelmingly supportive, but I hope we spread encouragement and I certainly felt encouraged by the company. (Also, I met some cool people.)
I think we should all be performing President ▅▅▅▅▅▅'s letter to the Prime Minister of Norway, circulated to various European diplomats, in the cranky toddler tone it was written in:
Just finished another Operation Overpass event here on the Gulf of Mexico 🥰 Todays' message was "Defend MLK'S Dream." We got lots of enthusiastic honking and waving from passing motorists.

You do need postcard stamps. I just printed off 21 postcards to send out tomorrow. I have a different pack to go out on Feb 4th.

By flooding their desks with postcards now, we are forcing them to acknowledge that if and when they pass a budget without strict accountability and a defunding of these aggressive surges, they are no longer just passive observers, they are the active financiers of the blood on our pavement.

Called you a 'runt', right..... ha ha ha. The voodoo doll brought back such memories! I was a research librarian before I shifted to analysing business cases. I was allowed a very generous budget for the collection. I bought 2 book sets which included a combined voodoo book and doll as part of the career development section, one for reference and one which could circulate. We had business/employees in over a 100 countries. Everyone loved it.
