Do not be deceived

Project 2025 is not just a suggestion. It's a series of marching orders.

While the conservative members of the SCOTUS seek to undermine fundamental tenets of our country, the GOP has said the quiet part out loud with Project 2025, which you can read here.

Taraji P. Henson issued a call to arms about it at the recent BET Awards.

The 920-page project — an ugly product from the rightwing Heritage Foundation — is a vigorous roadmap meant to dismantle things such as Head Start, and the federal Department of Education. It would also dismantle the “administrative state,” in general, out of a fear that the body is “woke.”

There are multiple references to the “disastrous” “Left.”

We’ve already explored what means “woke,” but o-kaaaay.

Media from elsewhere call Project 2025 “Trump’s wish list,” and it also includes building a wall along our southern border; pay-to-play for well-heeled migrants; money diverted from carbon-reduction goals to put toward increased energy production (drill, baby, drill); and it withdraws mifepristone from the market.

That’s just a taste. There’s more and I disagree with every word in it, including the authors’ use of the word “the.”

Earlier this week, Kevin Roberts, the head of the Heritage Foundation — formerly a conservative think tank and now a pack of dogs with fangs — trotted out a frequent straw man argument when he said:

“We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

Yeah. OK, Kev. These are big words from a craven and small man. They are meant to be intimidating. You’ve dealt with bullies before. Turn away, and spread the word about this benighted document. This is not the country we want, not now not ever.
