Connecticut’s famous war criminal, Henry Kissinger, went to meet his maker on Wednesday. Kissinger was the architect of some truly horrific policies in which many lives were needlessly lost. And yet, from the linked Just Security article, which ran in June after his 100th birthday:
Kissinger has not once been even questioned by a court about any of his alleged crimes.
Pity. Depending on your belief system, Mr. Kissinger is in celestial court right now, and if that is not your belief system, then you can take comfort that he has at least gone the way of all flesh.
I was raised to not speak ill of the dead, which is the afterlife version of “if you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.” So: He’s dead. Goodbye.
It’s a small thing, but:

His death at 100 reminds me of the credo, "only the good die young!"
Amen and good riddance.
