Former Trump mouthpiece and current governor of Arkansas Sarah Huckabee Sanders took time out of her schedule to stump for her old boss, and let people at a Michigan town hall know that her kids keep her humble.
And then she said that the Democratic candidate for president, Kamala Harris, doesn’t have anything to keep her humble — because she doesn’t have kids, though she appears to be a much-loved stepmother. Honestly, Sanders managed to confuse the lot of us with her attempt at politicking but let’s unpack, shall we?
For starters: Here’s more on the state of Sanders’ state; you’d think she’d have her hands full improving the lives of her constituents, but no, the raping felon needs her help so she flew off to Michigan.
Also: I believe we can infer from her comments that Sarah Sanders (read about her stupidest scandal ever here) needs outside influence to keep her ego in check. Should we also assume that when her children reach their majorities, she will return to her self-centered self?
Honestly, I find it weird that Sanders and others keep trying to give traction to the non-issue that Kamala’s-Never-Had-a-Belly-Baby. It’s stupid and it proves nothing, other than Sanders’ own regressive politics that measure a woman’s worth by her relationships to others (see “Shillbillying For Cash,” the JD Vance version, for more on this).
This dumb trope also opens the door to further speculation. What keeps this childless politician humble?
Or this one?
Tim Scott is a stepfather, but by Gov. Sanders’ measure, that does not count, so…
Mostly, it feels as if we are watching members of the GOP spin plates as fast as they can. It’s distraction at a time when we need concrete conversations about policy. Speaking of which, if you want to know more about what Sanders and the rest are planning, save yourself some wear on the tread and go here.
It's like the assignment went out: think of something mean to say about childless women.
Meanwhile, Arkansas's stats on divorce, homicide, suicide, and highway deaths are among the highest in the nation. Church attendance is lagging, too. I guess thoughts and prayers just don't have the power they used to.
Of course having kids or not has not been discussed as it relates to men in politics. Men have different rules. We don't even care much if men are married or not, or if their wife doesn't show up during the campaign, or if she almost never is even in the same home with him, or if he sleeps with a porn star while his wife is home with their new baby. A man apparently doesn't even need to be humble anyway, because certain men believe being humble is a sign of weakness.
The DT campaign is grasping at straws and keeps using personal attacks and racist lies to rile up their band of bullies that is the MAGA base.
