First, I am pleased to report I have re-upped for Susan's blog, which to me is like refilling one of my prescriptions. I find the reads therapeutic in these troubling times. In reply to this post I encourage you all, women especially, to read about J.D. Vance's latest pontification about marriage. He actually said divorce is too easy and women should remain in marriages, even violent ones?!? He is the embodiment of a male character in Gilead and he considers women his HANDMAIDS! Sadly Trump and the gQp are turning this country into that dreaded dystopian world!
Well, thank you for re-upping. I’m glad you are here. And J.D. is what happens when a hillbilly gets puffed up, and thinks he’s all that. He’s an opportunist. His words are coming back to haunt him and that’s fine by me.
I am coming to think that a major implicit demand of the anti-abortion crowd is that *they* get to judge. While the pregnant person waits around. Penitently.
*bad words elided except for the least obvious one* Scybalum.
I just subscribed. Having the free subscription left me in the dark too many times. Your words are always timely and often spark me to do something. Thank you Susan!
Of course. I dimly recall hushed conversations about my then early teenage sister and possible rape. In the old neighborhood I lived in on 67 Laurel Street, close to the spot where the Knox building stands. I would have been 5-8 years old. Nothing more was ever spoken about it. I don’t speak to my sister anymore. Early sibling rivalry later turning into arguments over mother’s care have a way of ending relationships. I rescue cats instead of sisters.
I’m sorry for all concerned. I always wonder about old babysitters but Patti is of special concern. I really want her life to have turned out OK. She’d be in her 70s now.
Oh and I just saw this from Matt Gaetz, it really got my Irish up and is germane to Susan's post today: Be offended': GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz tells local reporter that women protesting the repeal of Roe v. Wade need not worry about abortion access because they're too 'ugly and overweight' to get pregnant.
I saw that. The teenager he targeted did a beautiful job of squashing him like a bug. Gaetz needs to be off the public stage and the people who travel to hear him speak are indecent.
1000% agree.

I think the thrill of judging might play a bigger impact than we allow.
Susan, I completely agree with your honest and heartfelt comments .
Thank you. I really think more people agree than don't.

That’s an interesting point. How do we know elected officials won’t pull a Kavanaugh?
